Ryuzen Robby Pellett (1956-2019) was a Soto Zen priest and Zen teacher based in the Pacific Northwest. A student in the Suzuki Roshi lineage, he founded One Pine Hall in Seattle in 1994 and led the sangha until his death. Robby often compiled and self-published books of his haikus from specific seasons in his life and distributed them to his many friends in the Dharma. At the time of his unexpected passing in 2019, Pellett was working on compiling poems about his experience in Zen to publish in the near future. This book was arranged from journals spanning 40 years by Jion Nat Evans, his student.
Circuit Church has produced this chapbook of Ryuzen Pellett's haikus as a companion to the album, which was written to commemorate and honor him.
